Why It Takes Time To Become An Overnight Success

I’m writing this article on Friday night at 8:42PM GMT (pretty specific eh).

I’m not going to spend ages on it because it’s family time and I’m about to eat a chicken burger and watch a movie.

The movie has James Caan in it and it looks pretty cool, but that’s an aside from what I’m going to talk about quickly in this post

Ah yes, why it takes time to become an overnight success.

You know these gurus that sell the dream about pressing a big red magic button and watching thousands of dollars pour into your bank account while you’re swinging in a hammock sipping on a Pina Colada?

Don’t believe a word of it.

Earlier today I decided to post a revised and updated post all about 5 Autopilot Traffic Programsyou can join to get traffic 24/7 to any web link, which I recommend and use.

In my head that post should have taken an hour tops to put together. The reality is it took over 3 hours and because it took that long I am going to make a point of getting people to see it more than I would a post I cranked out in 15 minutes.

If you’re anything like me, when you read something including salespages, you don’t spend much time thinking how long it took the person who created it to put together.

Quite right, too.

All that’s important to the reader/visitor (etc) is whether it’s interesting enough to read and what’s in it for them.

Which is all fine and dandy until you are the one that become the creator and you’re in a position where you have to justify how much time you put into something versus what the return is.

It doesn’t make sense to think about things that way when you’re starting out, but over time you HAVE to place a value upon it and where it’s best invested.

If you could earn $50 an hour elsewhere and something takes you 3 hours, you have to consider the fact that the time investment in creating that content is worth $150+ to you at that moment in time.

When you have a long term outlook and you genuinely want to help people, like I do, then you tend not to think about things in that way, but the saying, “Love don’t pay the rent” rings true. All anybody really cares about is what’s in it for them.

Never forget your audience.

Speaking personally, my time would be better invested in creating products, packaging them up and selling them. I could bring affiliates on board and leverage other people’s efforts.

It’s something on my timeline and I will be releasing products in the future as well (this blog will continue, I’m not stopping before I have hundreds or thousands of posts on here), but that’s a post for another day.

Here is the food for thought section of this ‘quick post’ before I go off to devour a burger on a Friday night:

When you see someone making thousands of dollars because they sent out an email or a fortune from a video that went viral, always take into account in your head that they most probably went through a lot of work to become that overnight success you perceive.

Everyone starts at ground zero, even the gurus. Self-made millionaires are not born, they are made and this fact dictates there is a lot of work, trial and error in reaching those dizzy heights.

Never begrudge anyone their success. Instead focus on your own personal journey and keep striving to build momentum and in good time the universe will align with you as you achieve your personal goals.

Which is all that is really important.

Success is inevitable if you keep working hard and maintain faith in what you are doing will pay off. Keep celebrating those mini milestones and small successes until they become an unstoppable force that keeps working even when you aren’t.
